The media hypes every Kamala appearance like it’s a rock star reunion. On paper, Kamala is the frontrunner, but in practice what she has going for her is name recognition, and her appearances are tepid cringe from within a very thick bubble.

Her latest hyped remarks will take place in California for Emerge, a Democrat feminist organization prepping women (or presumably people who claim to be women) to run for public office. The common theme with her previous appearance for a minority women’s group is that Kamala can’t leave her bubble.

And she has nothing to say.

As I wrote earlier, Dem 2028 hopefuls are splitting into ‘reformers’, who propose rethinking the party after 2024, and ‘cheerleaders’ who reject the idea that the party did anything wrong, like Sen. Cory Booker and Gov. J.B. Pritzker, and want to double down.

Kamala has yet to pick a side or even understand that there are sides. Her only campaign message is that she’s an incredibly historic black woman looking to empower black women.

Identity politics wasn’t enough to run on in 2024, I’m skeptical that it’s gonna be enough in 2028.
