The 60 Minutes interview of Kamala Harris got a little awkward, not just because the VP mumbled random nonsense in response to questions, but because CBS News got caught splicing the interview together like it was a bad movie from an artsy Austrian director they brought some hack in to save.

After all of this hit social media like a thunderstorm, along with demands that CBS News release the transcript of the interview (not at all unprecedented), the media has fired back with “you foolish rubes!”
Portions of the Harris interview ran Monday on the newsmagazine and on the Sunday morning political show “Face the Nation.” On two occasions, it depicted Harris giving different answers to questions posed by correspondent Bill Whitaker on the Biden administration’s efforts to stop the war in the Mideast.
For CBS News, it was considered part of the typical editing and cross-promotion process that takes place for a big interview. Yet to those unfamiliar with journalism and television production, the effect can be jarring.
“To those unfamiliar with journalism” it can be “jarring” when a political candidate is seen “giving different answers to questions”.
So we’re officially in Stage 3, it happens all the time – and it’s a good thing too.
Also “those unfamiliar with journalism” may find it jarring when the media lies all the time.
Catherine Herridge, who worked as a senior CBS News Investigative correspondent, and other former network staffers are apparently “unfamiliar with journalism”.
“I think there should be an outside investigation,” one former CBS News journalist told The Post on Thursday. “Obviously, there’s a problem here. If they care about journalistic integrity, they would conduct an investigation or release the full transcript.”
A second CBS source said the discrepancy in the answers makes it seem that the network’s flagship show is “biased.”
Journalistic integrity? Boy are they unfamiliar with mainstream media journalism.
Not only did CBS do a cleanup on aisle “60 Minutes” (my guess at the request of the Harris campaign) but there is reason to believe that the answer they spliced into the “60 Minutes” version as broadcast was actually her response to a question about Ukraine while they made it appear to be her answer to a question about the Middle East. That’s clearly not “done all the time” and is an obvious case of news distortion. Meanwhile, Kamala and CBS are very concerned about “disinformation.”. You just can’t make this stuff up.
Yeah, Daniel! You tell them! You are, after all, the poster boy for journalistic integrity.

So to be clear they splice an interview together to make Donald Trump look bad and they splice an interview together to make the likes of Harris look good and they justify it.

Why would one trust a transcript, which can itself be edited, more than the released, edited video? CBS needs to release the original, uncut video. We need to see the facial expressions, general body language, the hesitations and signs of confusion, none of which a transcript will convey.
CTV got caught doing the same thing here in Canada. Totally created a report making our Opposition Leader “say” something he never said, in a deliberate effort to destroy him, in favour of the Liberal government.. CTV went stage 1 and then stage 2…said they “fired” the reporter and editor for something that has never ever happened in the history of CTV. The CEO of CTV said it was a ‘once in a lifetime” action that .
he couldn’t be bothered personally to investigate but had CTV employees-his minions, investigate and they couldn’t be bothered to check, nor would they check, to see if these two had done this in the past.
First they denied it had happened, then said it was an accident, then had to admit what had been done deliberately when the original unedited footage was released by others. They had taken dialogue from 3 different parts of the press conference and spliced in individual words.. Some “accident”.
“Cross-promotion process”? Is that like blatantly working for one party over another?
This is why President Trump did not go on 60 minutes – what they did to Cackling Kamalalala a witch whore of Babylon, they would have chopped and edited President Trump’s coherent answers to make him out as a babbling fool like dementia quid-pro-Joe TaliBriben, and Cackling Kamalalala and Tampon Timbecile – the later 3 complete pathological liars with no compunction to be treasonous whores to the deep state that promises them the world if they sell their soul which they have!!

I gave up on 60 Minutes over 30 years ago after one of their less celebrated hack jobs. The only difference I see in this case is that they tried to make someone look better instead of making them look worse. Integrity of any kind as not been their watch word for a long, long time. This time it was a rush job and people were paying attention. No one should ever talk with them without having an independent video of the conversation. Provable fraud may at least give their lawyers pause about not playing it straight.
Given the MSM, as shown by this incident and so many others, is little more than the propaganda wing of the Democrat party, do they really deserve the First Amendment protection for the press? They are no longer doing the job expected by the First, they are not a free press, they are owned lock, stock, and barrel by the left.
Checking journalistic integrity with a transcript is like checking a person’s sex after a trans procedure. The transcript of the journalist may not be the sum of the parts.

Reminded me of Leni Riefenstahl’s film showing a late night torch parade in Nuremberg. Turns out the reason it was held at night was that the torch carrying storm troopers were fat and out of shape, which would have shown up if the parade were held in daylight 🙂
