Two things are true. Cabinet members and the VP shouldn’t have been discussing military operations on a lefty-managed version of WhatsApp (which is what Signal really is). And nobody outside D.C. cares.
Jeffrey Goldberg being inappropriately or accidentally added to a Signal group by a staffer was just the cherry on the real problem here, but government officials chatting about government affairs on Signal is a problem so common in D.C. that it’s endemic. And paradoxically the only people getting outraged about it are in D.C.
Which makes them hypocrites.
Democrats are summoning the ghost of Hillary’s emails, but the underlying issue there was always more about the cover-up and the suspicious use of a private server. Sadly, officials sending classified information by Gmail is also commonplace. As are the uses of aliases and the mishandling of classified information.
It shouldn’t be this way, but after a decade of these scandals, the public knows it is.
There’s no cover-up here. Nor is there any need for one because there’s nothing to cover up. That was always the difference with Hillary who responded to everything with cover-ups leading people to conclude that there was something to cover up.
Nobody outside D.C. cares about ‘Signalgate’ and nobody outside D.C. is as guilty of this kind of stuff.
I’ll care about Signalgate when the media cares about Hillary’s private server, 33,000 deleted emails, smashed cellphones and Hunter’s laptop with “Russian disinformation.”
Nobody outside DC cares, which is why the chattering class can’t stop their mouths. Democrats, the hypocrites, are trying to gin up some outrage, but even the so-called conservatives won’t explain it clearly and then just stop. I listened to the insufferable Bill O’Reilly and sidekick Shawn Hannity yesterday for about 60 seconds — it was awful.
I just recalled the Signal app. I downloaded it on one of my iPhones about 10 years or so ago, then quickly deleted it. Secure – Baby diapers with poop is more secure than the Signal app.
Who is setting up these classified smart phones for the Trump 47 administration?
They could never work for Tesla or Spacex with this lack of security savvy.

It’s a big nothing-burger – something for the Democrats to yammer about. Maybe a misstep, but no U.S. troops were killed, no U.S. assets were lost, and the Houthi destruction campaign is ongoing.

I disagree. The MSM nationwide are pouncing on this. They are going straight for the jugular – they want Hegseth and/or Waltz to be fired and = probably – Trump to be impeached. They are conspicuously ignoring the key question in this matter: how is it possible that this unnamed staffer “mistakenly” added Goldberg to the chat?
Was this staffer a Biden holdover, or one of Waltz’s own people. Was Goldberg already a contact in the Signal system? Why? Who put him there? If he was a recent addition to the contact list, who put him there, and why? How could Goldberg – of all the people in the world, a known Trump hater with a loose connection to the truth – have been “accidentally” added to this chat? The MSM does not want to know, and that says a lot. It raises the probability that this was a setup, ala General Flynn and J6.
But, but Hegseth. He’s handsome and competent. He must be guilty of something.
Of course he’s guilty! Guilty of pissing off leftists and not kissing the democrat party’s ass. In today’s America, anyone who rejects democrat totalitarian control and dares to disagree with them is considered an enemy and a threat that must be ridiculed, impugned and destroyed for the greater good of the democrat agenda.
Signalgate is more pig slop political theater for the intellectually challenged. It’s a non issue spun up by the media and Congress. It’s great for both because Congress can “investigate” Signalgate and do nothing for us and the media can have a feeding frenzy and also do nothing for us. It’s like “money for nothing”!!

1. The Trump Administration should avoid insecure software like a plague, and appoint experts to watch for it.
2. The Democrats have lots of sleazeball hackers trying to sabotage the Trump Administration. They should be locked up on National Security grounds.
