I know that Obama acting as the secret puppeteer behind Biden is a popular theory, but the reality is that…
1. Obama pressured Biden to announce he wasn’t running in 2016
2. Repeatedly undermined him during the 2020 primaries including getting his own actual candidate, Deval Patrick, whom he thought of as a substitute self, to jump in.
Even when Biden won the nomination, Obama made a point of running him down to party elites to make it clear that if he were to lose, the defeat shouldn’t reflect on him.
3. Obama is back to doing it again.

Private talks don’t become the headlines of Washington Post stories unless someone at that meeting wanted them to. After over a decade of this stuff, it’s very clear that person is Obama. If Biden loses then Obama is on record as having “warned him” while forecasting that he might lose. So don’t blame Barry.
This is a kinder, gentler version of his famous “don’t underestimate Joe’s ability to f___ things up” line.

The basic reality about Obama is that he’s a paranoid thin-skinned arrogant narcissist. Those aren’t ideal qualities for a puppeteer who has to jump out on stage and announce that he’s not responsible for the puppet who really isn’t anywhere as good as him. And if Biden wins Obama should get the credit, but if he loses, Obama shouldn’t get any of the blame..
Obama wants everyone to know that he was a unique political talent and that no one else can do what he did. Even before entering the fight, he wants to stake out both positions, publicly campaigning for Biden while privately warning that he might not be up to the job and lose. But this is what Obama does. He’s jealous and undermines everyone while blowing up his ego to room size. It’s a pathetic performance in this case that shows the party left him in the dust a while back. Obama did an incredible amount of damage and he’ll do some more in 2024, but he’s no longer the center of attention and he desperately wants to be.

Yeah. We have occasional lightning storms around here so I looked up some of the safety tips. One was
“Immediately get out of and away from ponds, lakes, and other bodies of water.”
You should see the electrical storms in Nebraska. I thought the ones in Wisconsin were severe but F…..the lightning bolts in Nebraska would spread over half the sky. They would burn stuff down on a regular basis. And the rain would pelt down in sheets so thick you couldn’t see the road you were trying to drive on. It was like the monsoons in Indonesia. Those lightning bolts scared me almost as much as the tornadoes, and believe me, when you hear those tornado sirens go off at 2:00 or 3:00 AM, it’s all you can do not to shit your undies.
CA isn’t so bad, although I could do with less crime than San Jose has. I keep getting into fights with complete strangers. I could do without that shit. I’m too old for that.
Tornado sirens are meaningless. It means there’s a tornado in your county!! 99.999% of the time it’s nowhere near you and it’s not moving toward you.
Here in Dallas, we pretty much ignore them. Of course I’m a ham radio operator and I listen to the spotters on 2 meters to find out where it is and which way it’s moving. Then I can rest a little easier as I ignore the sirens. 😉
I wish I knew that back when. My butt cheeks would clench every time I heard those sirens. And it was always in the middle of the night! I would grab my sons and huddle in the bathtub. Dumb, I know but I thought I was protecting them.
Years ago I lived on a large lake. On day as a storm was brewing a bolt of lightning struck the water about 15 feet in front of me, I was blinded for a few seconds, and very hair raising experience. Maybe that’s why, in later life, all my hair left my head and took refuse in my ears.
My buddy as a teenager almost got hit by lightening when his bike spilled during a rainstorm and a bolt blew out a hole in the asphalt right next to him. I figure he was lucky to crash or he’d be dead.
I’ve seen some bolts hit houses but never right next to me.
In defense of puppeteering, it can be argued that Obama’s comments were designed to push Joe into doing something stupid, since Joe’s considered a disposable pResident by Obama’s own self-aggrandized standards anyway, and Joe certainly has a track record of stupid. Any good behaviorist can tell you that negative reinforcement (operant conditioning) can be just as effective as positive reinforcement. Hedging his bets by appearing to be a political prognosticator is right up Barrack’s alley, but you don’t have to like a puppet to use it. Frankly, I believe that’s part of the reason Joe was picked as his running to begin with; to make himself look good.

I’ve been saying that this has been the plan all along… ever since BO injected himself into the Dem primary by convincing everyone else to drop out in South Carolina and to coalesce around Joe. He knew Biden wasn’t up to the task ( remember : “Joe, you don’t have to do this”) and now we know why. He knew of the Biden corruption and of Joe’s cognitive decline.. he knew he could be the puppet master for a few few years, he sees how unpopular Kamala is. However, in order for them to remove her they have to replace her with another woman of color. Most say it will be Newsome, but my money is on Michelle Obama being called up to “save” the country and give Obama a 3rd and 4th term.. He is setting the stage, hoping Joe drops out so they can activate the plan more easily… but timing will be key and Republicans will not be prepared, as usual.

Peter, I haven’t seen anyone quote Manning — except for me — in a very long time. I followed him during the early years of the Long-legged Mack Daddy’s awful presence in DC, when I lived in NY. I think he’s one of the most astute and brilliant social analysts and commentators on the modern scene. He’s gone quite anti-Trump — owing, I think, to his condemnation of Trump’s moral turpitude, as Manning sees it — and I don’t have time to watch him much anymore: he’s off doing his church thing. But I have archived a great many of his older clips. His persona and delivery are his very own. His criticisms were scathing, and he was unflinching in criticizing his own as well as others. His predictions were fearsome and dire. He could be devastatingly funny. He had Barraco Barner pegged from even before the get-go. It was Manning who knew that BO had NEVER been at Columbia University — out of 400 interviewees, ZERO remembered him — he was off being a CIA asset, helping to creat the Taliban. It was Manning who knew that It was Percy Sutton who bought BO him into school. It was when that Kenyan / Chicagoan / Hawaiian / Indonesian “mutt,” as he called himself, was ascending to oppress us, that Manning was indispensable in showing just how toxic BO really was.

I don’t agree. He most certainly IS the secret puppeteer behind Biden. In August 2020, BO met Jim Clyburn in SC for the SC Democratic primary. BO and Jim were cheer-leading for Biden. “He’s really one of us, because I will be the real president.” *wink wink* BO and Jim’s help put Biden over the top. He won the SC Dem primary, and with that, he clinched the nomination. He’s back-peddling now of course, but it means he can blame Joe for things going south.
Obama could despise Biden but still have a substantial degree of control over him. Certainly, there are holdovers from the Obama admin who work in the current Biden administration.

I’ve long thought there unseen players at work. When Obama didn’t leave Washington after his term, there was a reason. However, I find it easy to think, if the unseen forces can even operate, they must several moves ahead. It turns out, they aren’t much better than anyone else. Obama, with all of the levers at his disposal, still finds it hard to keep Biden away from the foul lines. No ones knows what will come out of Biden’s mouth next or if his term ends half way down the next flight of stairs. It’s as if a cheater at cards doesn’t know 3 cards are missing.
