During WWII, the Nazi regime, headed by Adolf Hitler, set out to exterminate every living Jew. They murdered 6 million. Why did they do it? How did they do it? Because Hitler was vegetarian, does that mean all vegetarians are Hitler? That is the usual reasoning these days.
Given the conditions of the post WWI Weimar Republic, I think Hitler or someone like him was inevitable. The conditions imposed on the German people were designed to destroy them. Should they have just gone quietly into that good night?
The Nazis didn’t stop shooting Jews ONLY because it was too slow.
They developed the gas chambers in large part because of the concern of the disturbing effects of shooting Jews on their soldiers. Plus, it was diabolically more efficient. 💔😭
The atrocities of that war were not limited to killing just the Jews. Even the allies committed these atrocities. The history we know is limited and does not reveal the full humanity of what happened. We have reduced the World Wars to a simplistic good guys vs. bad guys story in which we preen before the mirror and think we were wonderfully and wholly good.
But, we were human. We all are, and there are a lot of gray wolves lurking in the black and white of fairy tales.
Among the people killed along with the Jews were at least 1.3 million others, those who were outspoken or judged somehow to be opposed to Hitler, including anyone caught giving shelter of any type to Jews. There was so much more to this horribly sad chapter of human history.
A lesson learned from the Bible is God fought for the jews when they had his favor, and generally lossed battles when they did not. Hitler’s genocide was executed so well it is as though he was likely divinely aided. A since no lesson was learned from it, it will probably happen again.
Whoever downvoted you needs to read Deuteronomy 28 and Deuteronomy 30.
And just so we are clear – the LORD is both righteous and impartial. We Christians cannot expect to be exempt from the LORD’s judgment when we, too, turn away from Him.
Modern lefty students who would have “nothing to do with” Nazis, nevertheless support Hamas which is the military wing of the Muslim Brotherhood, the Nazi wing of Islam. When they chant “from the river to the sea” they are calling for the continuation of the Holocaust. That latest installment which nearly all leftists support started on October 7, 2023 and continues to this day.
PS: The biggest lie the left has ever told was that Hitler was “right wing”. He was no such thing. The Nazis were the National Socialist German Workers Party. Yep. Socialist.
So, all you “nothing to do with” Nazis, virtue signaling, college lefties: that means … you.
The history of WWII cannot be adequately understood if we limit focus to anti-semitism as the sole energy and cause of the outbreak of hostilities. Nor can the study of that history be limited to the Jews who suffered and died alongside their gentile countrymen, or to Hitler who was not alone in the commission of atrocities, but whose name now functions as a kind of evil, all-purpose epithet to describe anyone we do not like.
World War 2 was largely caused by WW 1 and its horrible aftermath. And so understanding the causative history prior to WWI and the terms of its “peace” is necessary to understanding WWII.
This video repeats the shallow, limited, dumbed-down history currently taught in public schools. It has become almost religious in its mythos, and no one can question it. The myth even has a name – the “post-war consensus.”
Before you downvote me, understand I am not using “mythos” and “myth” to mean these things did not happen. They DID happen and set the course for the days in which we are now living.
