The 2028 Dem hopefuls can roughly be divided into moderates trying to reckon with what happened in 2024 and urging the party to pull back from the craziness… and the crazies who insist that they did nothing wrong and want to double down on it.
Many of the born-again moderates like Gov. Gavin Newsom are really crazies when it comes to actual policy. Pretending to be reckoning with the fallout is a political tactic. And so is going all in on militancy like Sen. Cory Booker and now Gov. J.B. Pritzker. They know what’s going to get more applause from their party and it’s not going on a podcast with Charlie Kirk. In that regard, Pritzker has now outdone every other Dem hopeful by delivering a New Hampshire speech with no ideas, just a call for war. It’s an overwritten and badly delivered speech, but the applause makes it obvious that this is the talk that the Dems want to hear from their leaders.
“Never before in my life have I called for mass protests, for mobilization, for disruption, but I am now, these Republicans cannot know a moment of peace,” Pritzker recited.

Because there haven’t been enough riots yet.
The obvious question is what does fat boy intend to do about it? Besides write more checks. Still Dems love the message that they did nothing wrong and that they need to fight twice as hard. And shove men twice as hard into the ladies room.
Back in his speech, Pritzker said Democrats should blame their losses in November on a “lack of guts and gumption,” not on the party’s defense of black people, transgender kids and immigrants.
“Voters didn’t turn out for Democrats last November not because they don’t want us to fight for our values, but because they think we don’t want to fight for our values,” he said.
This is a fantasy, but it’s a seductive fantasy. Double down on freeing criminals, open borders and ending women’s sports. Then denounce the opposition as enemies of the state. It worked for Biden. Bound to work for an ordinary morbidly obese working-class billionaire. But it’s clearly what Democrats want.
The main mistake was attacking Social Security. That’s what almost all the local demonstrators are upset about. It’s such a complex organization and obviously the rich oligarchs know nothing about it, being so rich they don’t need it.. One has to have some experience dealing with the organization to understand how it works. It was barely chugging along as it was, having to hire extra workers when they had to carry out a large scale verification project, for example.
Almost all the MSM articles are advocating positions benefiting the oligarchs, not the ordinary voters, which is suspicious. The ordinary voters don’t care about tariffs and deporting violent migrants, but they do care about their own personal financial survival. 70 million voters depend on Social Security. And many young people don’t understand the problems they are headed for when they need Social Security themselves, having a lot of illusions about the situation. Including how tough old age and retirement is.
The demoncrap field is searching furiously for a message that will resonate with their primary voters. Barely coherent, irrational, psychopathic calls for violence are the messages that resonate with the last of the miserable turds that haven’t walked away yet. Trump and the new free media have completely broken them.
Democrat/socialists are the party of nerds and women. Neither can ever admit they are wrong about anything, otherwise they will run screaming from the room and not speak to you.
Illinois had a program that allowed citizens to get a tax credit for donating money to a tuition voucher program. That program allowed students from poor families to escape the public schools that were dismal in spite of high per-student spending. (I contributed to that program.)
How bad are those schools? The black woman who was President of the Chicago Teachers Union called school choice “racist.” She, like billionaire Pritzker, sent her child to an expensive private school. It was the teachers’ unions that Pritzker caters to that wanted the program ended and it was.
Democrat-dominated Illinois is a fiscal basket case. That so many southern counties in the state want to secede should surprise no one intelligent enough to understand why so many liberal policies are failures.
