San Diego’s Board of Supervisors are working hard to deliver for their base. That’s good. The problem may lie with who they think their base is.
The Board of Supervisors gathered Tuesday to vote whether or not to close what county staff described as a loophole in state law that — in some circumstances — still allows local law enforcement to hand people over to U.S. Immigration and Customs Enforcement (ICE).
What “people”?
The lone dissent vote came from Republican Jim Desmond, who called the vote “an affront to every law-abiding citizen.”
“This reckless measure not only goes far beyond California’s already extreme sanctuary state laws, but actively endangers our communities by shielding illegal immigrant criminals from deportation,” Desmond said. “Consider this: under this policy, law enforcement is prohibited from notifying ICE about individuals, in custody, who have committed violent and heinous crimes, including rape and stalking, assault and battery, burglary, child abuse and more.
Illegal alien rapists are people too. And apparently the only people that the San Diego Board of Supervisors represents anymore.
The board letter states that “immigrant communities form an integral part of our county’s social fabric. When federal immigration authorities, including the Department of Homeland Security, U.S. Immigration and Customs Enforcement, and U.S. Border Patrol, coerces local law enforcement to carry out deportations, family members are separated and community trust in law enforcement and local government is destroyed.”
Illegal alien rapists are an integral part of the social fabric of San Diego. The most integral.
Chair Nora Vargas cleared the room at Tuesday’s meeting before the board discussed the item, saying there was too much disruption from the public.
Understandable. She won’t expel illegal alien rapists, but will expel the public from a hearing.
That’s the leftist trick. Take over Boards of Stupidvisors or other public agencies. Then make it seem like the whole community is leftist. Like Doonesbury stereotypes of California, now the rest of the country thinks California is like that. If they only knew how many motorcycle gangs California has …
The victims should be allowed to Sue the City and sue their Panties off for sheltering the Crinimals the whole City Council and Mayor belong in Prison for Life and throw a way they key
Perhaps the entire San Diego Board of Supervisors, minus Jim Desmond, should be deported. I wonder if they are tough enough to go to jail when Homan comes for them.
Send them to the Amazon with just the clothes on their backs lets see them get along without their GPS
People should not wonder why vigilantism emerges in societies.
but there are those who are standing up for the law and NOT AGAINST IT.
Here’s one San Diego sheriff who is:
In San Diego, county sheriff vows to defy supervisors’ resolution making the city a ‘super sanctuary’
By Monica Showalter
Apparently, not everyone’s going along with blue-city business-as-usual, at least in San Diego County.
According to the Daily Wire:
On Tuesday, the San Diego County Board of Supervisors voted 3-1 for a policy that would turn the jurisdiction into a “super sanctuary” county, thereby preventing its sheriff’s department from notifying ICE about illegal immigrants who had committed violent crimes.
The policy goes beyond California state law and will require a judge’s order for ICE to receive assistance from the county to transfer illegal immigrants convicted of violent crimes to immigration authorities.
