The DEI leaders of LA are busy bickering over who was to blame for the fires.
Mayor Karen Bass, who was in Ghana at the time, fired Kirstin Crowley, the first Lesbian head of the fire department, for supposedly not warning her of what every local already knew, that the Santa Ana Winds posed a serious fire hazard.
While Bass is the worst offender in the fires, the rush to sympathize with Crowley is misplaced. Text messages show that the LAFD didn’t get serious about the Pacific Palisades fire until it was much too late.
During the text exchange on Jan. 6, [Carol] Parks informed Crowley that Los Angeles Emergency Operations Center would be “activated at Level 3 (lowest level with EMD staff)” the next day…
“Two brush fires in the city. Palisades and Hollywood,” Crowley wrote to someone at 10:35 a.m.
“Sending over staff now,” she texted Parks minutes later. “I would recommend level 2.”
How long did it take to get to Level 1?
Hours later at 7:19 p.m., Parks texted, “EOC Directors are recommending that we move to Level 1,” adding that the Level 1 status would start the next morning.
By then this was the full-blown disaster people were watching on television around the world.
Whose fault were the fires? Short answer: everyone. The city and state was run by overpaid DEI hires with no clue how to do their jobs.
At 7:22 p.m., Los Angeles Department of Water and Power Chief Executive Officer Janisse Quiñones asked Crowley if “we can safely access this point,” adding that “we got evacuated before installing a reg station” and that otherwise, “we will run out of water in about 2 hours.”
Fighting fire without water is pretty hard. Fighting fires with DEI hires is nigh impossible.
Yeah, fires need to be put out quickly, before they spread and get out of control, especially when it is windy.
When you achieve a position of great responsibility in a nation that used to run on merit, community trust and cooperation, it is perhaps difficult to shed the notion that everything will be all right. All those hated men who used to take their jobs seriously and aim for excellence needed to go because…DEI.
We are living in a giant cargo cult, with everybody marching around pretending to be John Frum, expecting magic to happen.
The REactions of the dei’s seem to indicate that there have NEVER been ANY FIRES in CA! Their pre-planning or pre-positioning of personnel and equipment was very lacking and did not show any indication that they had an “inkling” of what COULD happen and HAS happened before with those SA winds and a brush fire!
Yes, people should be FIRED when they fail so spectacularly and that includes the absentee Mayor and the nitwit Governor!
A review of their ACTION PLAN MANUAL would be interesting. Would their Fire Department have ANY mentions of actually FIGHTING a FIRE or is it more like an HR Hiring Protocol?
So how many in L.A. are Homeless just to save worthless 3 inch Fish(Delta Smelt)or is something bigger is Involved like a Loud Mouth Bass
And others pay for this incompetence with the losses of their homes, communities and rebuilding with the insurance mess in California may be difficult to impossible for those who are not wealthy.
Even without the reservoir water, why didn’t they immediately look into the super scooper planes that can go out to the ocean, scoop up the water and put the fires out? Eventually, they got them from Canada.
In a semi-arid climate like that in California, having multiples of these super scoopers would actually be no-brainer purchases and the fires could be addressed quickly and efficiently saving millions-billions of damage and destruction and insurance carriers for homeowner’s insurance policies in California would be able to continue offering policies there.
It seems that California is suffering a chronic case of Munchausen Syndrome by proxy orchestrated by their state government.
The state government is sick, so either vote them out, start preparing yourselves for even more unnecessary disasters, or take your hard-earned money and leave the state.
LA burned while DEI fiddled!
And in the end, no lessons will be learned. California will still vote Democrat in the coming midterms and beyond.
