There is no meaningful opposition to Hamas in Gaza. The Muslim Brotherhood terror group retains the support of a majority of Arab Muslims occupying Gaza. While they’re far from enthusiastic about it, the only other game in town is the PLO’s Palestinian Authority which tends to be far more hated.
Plus Hamas has a way of shutting down protests very fast and in the most direct way possible.
The Arabs in Gaza live in a tribal society of clans. Everything is determined by connections to large families. Those families have a lot at stake and scramble for a place in the power blocs that run everything. Which means they don’t just have protests.
So what’s going on in Gaza where hundreds appear to be protesting Hamas? One basic question is why now?
The theme of the protests was a call for Hamas to step down and end the fighting. The sudden interest in ending the war is tied to the so-called Arab Plan for Gaza is moving forward. Under that plan, a fake ‘technocratic’ front group will run the place under the “supervision” of the PLO using ‘Palestinian’ troops trained by Jordan and Egypt. Hamas will supposedly not have a voice in the running of Gaza.
In reality, this is yet another variation of the same scheme that has been repeatedly proposed in which Hamas runs things from behind the scenes while a front group controlled by the PLO collects foreign aid.
(The Arab Plan estimates that rebuilding Gaza will cost $53 billion.)
The goal is creating an Islamic terrorist state in Gaza and Judea and Samaria with international recognition.
The sudden ‘protests’ against Hamas are meant to manufacture the myth that Arab Muslims occupying Gaza are ready for a new government.
Hamas didn’t greet the protests cheerfully, but neither did it cracked down as hard as it could. Pro-Hamas outlets like Al Jazeera and Middle East Eye are not acknowledging the protests while too many pro-Israel people are foolishly celebrating them as some sort of step forward. For the moment this is an internal dispute between two Jihadist groups, one overt and one covert, it doesn’t indicate peace or coexistence is here.
The protest is meant for public consumption in the Arab world and in the United States. It’s not a sea change, but the same old scam.
Exactly. Completely, transparently fake. A staged ploy by Hamas/Gaza and Qatar/Hamas to hold onto the land. I hope Trump/Witkoff aren’t buying it.
After his pro-Qatar and stupidly naive comments about Hamas during his interview with Tucker Carlson, I wouldn’t count on Steve Witkoff to say or do anything helpful to Israel.
Like most he had little knowledge of the actual history of the region, He may know more now. Monumentally more after he realizes Qatar owns and operates the rabid anti-Israel “news” source Al Jazeera and ………….. 13 billion!! It has now been revealed that Qatar/Al Jazeera money is part of 13 billion in Arab money given to universities [plus billions infused into Western media], in the US and who knows how much money found its way to other Western Universities in Canada, the UK, Australia, France Germany Belgium Ireland etc. and that money dictates the professors/teachers and administrators, that are hired and the agenda they spew and the actions they take.
If Witkof has gotten as far as he has without knowing the facts on Islam, in essence, he isn’t going to learn them.
He doesn’t know the facts on Putin, a huge backer of Islam, either.
maybe so but taking a position that guarantees perpetual enmity requires more evidence than one’s intuition or supposition. We have sufficient technology to determine if this a true rebellion or not. If not, we act accordingly, if it is, we will act accordingly, I’m not prepared or interested in pretending we know what these folks are actually thinking as they stumble about their rubble filled lives. Germany eventually surrendered as did Japan. Many Arab Muslims are beginning to realize they are being used by the Persians as cannon fodder for the sake of Persian hegemony in the region and that it has little to do with religion and all to do with the desire to control the resources of the region. The Persians have been fighting the Semites for 4000 years.

Taqiyya is a correct spelling. (tequila = an alcoholic spirit made in Mexico from fermented blue Agave plant.

There is something strange in the human psyche that makes it love evil, feel empathy for liars and side with the wicked while being scornful of the truth and having disdain for the righteous. I certainly don’t think Israel is pure, because you have to be a mean son-of-a-bitch sometimes to survive in that part of the world, but anyone that thinks the Gazans were just sitting around minding their own business when Israel started dropping bombs is bereft of truth and one of those people.

Given that a recent poll revealed that over 70% of Gazans want Hamas to retain control after the war, Mr Greenfield’s assessment is very likely 100% accurate. I’m Israeli. I wouldn’t trust any Gazan further than I could throw him.
The Soviet Union had fake protests around the world. Even in Madre Russia, the Soviet constitution allowed “the people” to use the streets to demonstrate. “The people” meant the Party. The Arab ploy has been to make fake agreements that could always be violated, sometimes by fake, new organizations. I have always seen that as a Russian Matryoshka nesting doll ploy that reminded me of Mickey Mouse as The Sorcerer’s Apprentice unable to control the brooms. Arab nesting dolls are the brooms of world jihad.

Same with Pakistanis in UK; they use this method to completely take over first local councils then larger areas. They take public housing and make huge profits from selling it off. They only deal with other muslims. When I lived in east London, the chemist(pharmacist?) opposite refused to serve white people. This was over 20 years ago but no one pays any attention.
